Yariel Olivera Veloso, was born on September 8 in Sancti – Spíritus, Cuba. He is the director of the Baxter Chorus as well as the Music Director at Baxter Institute. Yariel is also in charge of the student campaigns in June.
He and his wife, Milena Pacheco, are both from Cuba and are Baxter graduates.
My brother taught me from an early age to develop my ear for music. He was my teacher and introduced me to the guitar. Through my love for music he also showed me Jesus as my Savior. I was baptized in the year 2000 in an evangelistic campaign.
I started studies at the Art School to study music and different musical instruments. I love building relationships with all people and truly am blessed as teacher and Choral Director at the Baxter Institute. I also minister in music at the Barrio Guanacaste congregation in Tegucigalpa.
Yariel and Milena were married in 2007. They were blessed in 2019 with a beautiful 3-year-old girl named Evelyn Sophie Olivera Pacheco. Currently, my wife is the Receptionist at the Baxter Institute and director of the Sunday school in Guanacaste.
My favorite phrase is: “Do not lose joy” alluding to the fact that Christ is with us in the midst of storms. My prayer is that Christ is the center of my life, of my family and that I can encourage many on the path to God.
