Ceremony of New Appointments and Recognition for Years of Service at Baxter Institute

Tegucigalpa. On June 24, 2026, Baxter Institute held a solemn ceremony to appoint new authorities to the positions of Academic Dean and Vice President of the institution. Additionally, special recognition was given to long-serving employees for their many years of dedication to the organization.

Daniel Rodríguez, New Academic Dean

Daniel Rodríguez took office as the new Academic Dean of Baxter Institute. Originally from Venezuela, Daniel is married to Marbella Parra, and they are parents to two sons, Aaron and Ian. Daniel arrived at Baxter Institute with his wife in 2017. As a student, he distinguished himself through his academic commitment, graduating in 2020 with the “Leta Baxter Medal”—an honor awarded to the student with the highest GPA in the graduating class.

The following year, Daniel joined Baxter Institute as a faculty member, serving with care and dedication in teaching. Beyond teaching, he took on other responsibilities, such as Director of the Extension Course for Leaders and Workers (C.E.L.O.) and Director of Student Spiritual Life.

In 2024, Daniel began a Master’s Degree in New Testament at the Harding School of Theology in the United States, which he is currently completing. With great joy, we congratulate him on assuming his new role and wish him much success in his academic endeavors.

Guadalupe Arturo Mayo, New Vice President of Amicus Association

Guadalupe “Lupe” Mayo was appointed Vice President of the Amicus Association. He is married to Patricia Izaguirre and is the father of two sons, Isaí and Santiago. Originally from Mexico, Lupe arrived in Honduras in 2003 to study Theology. His outstanding student record led him to graduate with honors in 2006, receiving the “Leta Baxter Medal.”

Upon graduating, Guadalupe became the youngest faculty member of his time. He served as Director of the Christian Training Program (P.E.C.), directed the Diploma Program, served as Director of Student Life for 10 years, and directed the Missionary Learning Program (P.A.M.).

In 2021, he began a new phase at the institution when he was appointed Academic Dean, guiding the school in new academic directions. His tenure was marked by educational modernization, the introduction of new educational programs, the creation of new student service departments, and the establishment of key inter-institutional agreements. At this ceremony, Guadalupe stepped down from his role as Dean to become the Vice President of the Amicus Association. We wish him many blessings and growth as he fulfills his new administrative responsibilities.

Recognition for Years of Service

In the final part of the ceremony, recognition was presented to two groups of employees with long careers and many years of service at the institution. The first group honored had worked at the association for 19 to 29 years, while the second group had 30 to 35 years of service. Each employee received a commemorative plaque and a gift in gratitude for their years of dedication.

The President of Baxter Institute led a special prayer, entrusting the institution’s new authorities to God, along with the work carried out by each staff member to fulfill the mission of serving and preaching the Gospel as Jesus did. Students, faculty, administrative staff, maintenance workers, medical and dental teams, and special guests shared a memorable occasion that will be long remembered.
