Its sole purpose is to prepare its students to become preachers, teachers, missionaries, and leaders among churches of Christ throughout the Spanish-speaking world. For over 50 years, Baxter Institute has provided ministerial training in a Latin American context. <br><br>Originally established in <a href=\"\/index.php\/history\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"\/index.php\/history\">Mexico in 1964,<\/a> Baxter Institute was later moved to Tegucigalpa, Honduras in 1978.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Today there are over 700 graduates of Baxter\u2019s residential program, ministers, and families involved in a variety of ministries all across Latin America and the U.S.<br><br><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/172.16.100.25\/index.php\/academics\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"77\">Residential Ministry Program<\/a>.<\/strong>  Baxter\u2019s resident training program is a four-year, university-level, academic program. It is supplemented with weekend church ministry assignments and annual campaigns.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"\/index.php\/pam-internships\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"\/index.php\/pam-internships\"><strong>PAM Internships. Programa de Aprendizaje Missionero<\/strong> (PAM)<\/a> comes at the end of the resident training program. It is a six-month internship program. The focus is missionary-specific training for Baxter students at the end of their senior year. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"\/index.php\/celo-leadership-training\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"\/index.php\/about-baxter\/missions\/celo-leadership-training\/\">CELO.<\/a><\/strong><a href=\"http:\/\/celo-leadership-training\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"celo-leadership-training\"> <\/a> The CELO program is a one-year, 20 module correspondence course offered to all.  Once completed, graduates receive a diploma. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/172.16.100.25\/index.php\/academics\/pec\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"2035\">PEC.<\/a>  <\/strong>PEC is a three-year intensive program for leaders and workers that crave better preparation. Courses are offered online on Saturdays.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/172.16.100.25\/index.php\/clinic\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"1187\">JMA Clinic<\/a><\/strong>.  James Moody Adams&nbsp;<strong>Baxter Clinic<\/strong>&nbsp;sits adjacent to the main campus and serves the medical needs of not only the Baxter students, staff, and campus visitors, but also those of our neighbors from&nbsp;the poor communities surrounding Baxter.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"\/index.php\/childrens-nutrition-program\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"\/index.php\/childrens-nutrition-program\"><strong>Nutrition Program<\/strong> <\/a>The Nutrition Program targets children with nutritional challenges.  It seeks to address the ever challenging nutritional needs of poor children and their families through food supplements and education.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/172.16.100.25\/index.php\/clinic\/dental-program\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"1281\">Dental.<\/a><\/strong> The clinic offers dental services in the mornings.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/172.16.100.25\/index.php\/clinic\/vcom\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"1279\"><strong>VCOM.<\/strong> <\/a> The <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vcom.edu\/about\">Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine<\/a><\/strong> (VCOM), headquartered in Blacksburg, Virginia has partnered with Baxter Institute to provide high quality medical services to the community.  VCOM students from the campus in Blacksburg and additional campuses in Spartanburg, SC, Auburn, Ala., and Monroe, La. fulfill their internships at the Baxter clinic.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/172.16.100.25\/index.php\/clinic\/hope-to-walk\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"1283\">Hope-to-Walk.<\/a><\/strong>  Partnering with Baxter,  Hope to Walk works to manufacture prosthetic legs for third-world amputees.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Baxter Institute is a Christian educational institution.
